Clear Eyes, Full Belly, Can't Lose
Wait, that isn't how the saying goes?! Today I had the wonderful opportunity to join the Sacramento Valley Flower Collective at Fully Belly Farms in Guinda. Many of you may be asking where exactly is that? Is that still in California? Basically, it is wayyy out in the boondocks, far, far from a Target store (yes, that is how I judge how "country" a town is) but yes, still in California! I got the chance to finally meet growers and fellow florists who's Instagram accounts I ha

Celebrating Women
We were honored to be part of an International Women’s Day celebration at West Elm at the Fountains in Roseville. There were treats, discounts, and a variety of local makers, including jewelry, hand-lettering artists, and a watercolor artist. Since I just returned from Hawaii, I did a tropical-themed flower bar complete with proteas, safari sunsets, burgundy sunset leucadendron, palms, bear grass, and spider mums. Everyone loved the proteas as I had imagined they would from m

Do Yourself a Favor and Don't Read This
It's 3 in the morning. You wake up startled from the worst nightmare. You dreamt you were in your house... only it wasn't your home anymore. Hundreds of little black rats have overtaken it, their feces on the floor, on the countertops, on your bed. Flies swarming everywhere because they thrive in that environment. And not just annoying flies like the ones when you're BBQing in your sunny, warm backyard with friends. We're talking hundreds of flies, a few landing on you every

Cactus Man
So, naturally I talk about flowers, succulents, and cacti a lot. Way too much actually. So much so that a brand-new friend said he knew the president of the some local cactus club and I freaked out and said I must meet him. (New friend may not still be friends with me by the time I finish this blog, stay tuned.) I harassed new friend for about a week asking when I could meet Cactus Man. It should also be noted that cactus man began referring to me as Cactus Girl. Can you say

Almost Famous
I'm just going to put this right here... Strictly Weddings did a wonderful feature on a boho chic wedding shoot we participated in and said the sweetest things! Check it out here! Side note: The day we did this, I had to leave early from my little sister's 20th birthday party and rush straight to the shoot. It's summer in Sacramento so it goes without saying how hot it was, but the part I didn't realize was that we could only drive so far into the location site and the rest o

Bikini Weather
I was doing a Crossfit class last night in Folsom and I realized, "Oh.my.gosh, it is HOT out." I looked at my phone after the workout for the temperature and realized it was only 70 degrees. Now, 70 degrees is definitely not hot by Sacramento standards BUT, considering we just had like 10 months of rain and hadn't seen the sun in 3 months, it was HOT. This weather reminded me of these cute little potted flowers we did for an event. How can you not celebrate good times?! And a

A Restaurant? Who Knew!
A friend of mine wanted to go to dinner and he mentioned a couple places, one of them being The Firehouse. I immediately said YES because I had been DYING to check it out since I booked a wedding there a few months out and I hadn't been yet. We ate outside where the ceremony and reception were going to be held. Um, can you say gorgeous?! Brick walls. Fireplace. Ivy. Fountain. Enough said. And then the presentation of the food and it was as delicious as it was pretty, okay fin
